A treasured time when school is out,
morning lie-ins, laze about;
those treasured days, start of new terms,
Mum’s ‘window’ 9-3 returns.
A treasured time when health’s renewed,
awhile with brightness life’s imbued;
a treasured time – a well-earned break
– refreshing air of mountain lake.
A treasured time – from far away
new grandchildren are brought to stay,
a welcome visit strengthens hearts
when each one love and warmth imparts.
A treasured time when feuds are past,
and reconciled in joy at last.
Such memories shine through the slog
and tedium of journey’s jog.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I liked the way your story fit into the title. And I agree that those items you mentioned are indeed treasured times, and often rather rare, in my family.
