Days to Remember

And I ran with the flowering daisies beneath my feet
And my hair flowing from my face
With the warm winds rustling the
Leaves, in the sycamore trees
In a sunny, summertime blue, breeze
Wealth in abundance, as my bare feet skipped
Into the soft earth, carpeted in green
Felt like life had crept, bringing
Shinning sunshine, through to me,
And remembered now with ease
And the feeling of freedom, between my toes
And the ‘pee the bed’, dandelion blows
That scattered in winds, and tickled my nose
Are the days of my childhood
Still with me, and shows….
Days that had no care… but joy!
Unaware of me, of who, or what, or where
Days of young laughter, and song
Of belonging to, and dreaming
And just playing along
Days of chasing butterflies,
And acting, and skipping,
And swinging ropes, around lamp posts
Skint knees, and kisses and plasters
And rolling with laughter,
All of these, are my
Childhood’s precious memories…
