Hustling, bustling narrow stream
tumbles into gentle Monnow
gliding, flowing,
slowly going
on its steady way;
round the bend a stony bed, –
water rippling,
sunlight stippling;
buttercup meadows,
speedwell patches, vivid blue,
carpet of white ransoms strewn –
clustered stars beneath the trees
wafting garlic on the breeze;
here and there the river babbling, burbling
accompaniment to cheerful
birdsong warbling:
peaceful ramble.

Such a peaceful poem Rhiannon,
I felt like I was rambling with you on this
perfect scene, without a care in the world.
Perfectly heavenly.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Jenny.

Lovely ramble Rhiannon. Fluid like the stream and loved the clustered stars beneath the trees. Right up my street, this one.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Another delightful piece about walking and taking in the sights. I like the smell of wild garlic.
