Dwellers of the New World Prologue

This story is dedicated to all those dreamers who can imagine a new earth somewhere out there in another dimension that's very similar to our own. The only difference is that life had to begin at the beginning, and hopefully the same mistakes wouldn't be made.
This story follows on from The Chosen Ones.
Prologue:
It had been ten summers since the crystal ships had landed on the new world. They came to right the wrongs. The watchers as they became known, used technology to take away the memories of the evil hunters, who then became healers themselves.
Stones that had been erected in honour of the watchers, and became sacred ground, where people came to seek guidance and talk to the higher powers, now they knew they were being watched over.
Women and children lay flowers and precious crystals, which they dedicated to the watchers who came to their world and made it a safe haven.
Men and women went out in search of new lands, preaching, spreading the word of love and forgiveness. They wanted to keep the memory of the watchers alive, so that those who came after them, would understand why what they did was so important, they called them healers too.
The forests flourished, seeds continued to be sown by the birds, the red squirrels continued to bury their nuts and forget about them, nuts would be left to germinate growing into baby trees to thrive and multiply, nature had never been so rich because of how the people cared, and only killed what was needed to survive the long winters.
In a leafy hollow the people came to show their respects to the winged ones, the ravens...the crows would come and sit beside humans, no longer afraid and would wait to be fed. The smaller birds, such as the tits – robins, the nuthatch, sparrows and many others, would come and eat out of your hands. This situation didn't happen over night, it had taken many summers and winters to progress to this point, but with care, belief and faith, they came to this one place where birds and humans had trust.
Only one man by the name of Gregor, had managed to avoid the ships that came all those years ago. He hid in the darkness of the caves, staying in the shadows alone, but one day when the time was right, he would come out and make himself known.

I had a scan of one of the later chapters and decided to come and find the beginning. My goodness are you prolific! I'm intrigued with the prologue. You've got lots of chapters up, so I suspect I'm going to be a little busy now. :)
