Natures Best

Clouds come by and cover sun
Rain falls and rabbits run
Birds find shelter in the trees
Hives will shelter Bumble Bees
Insects also look for shelter
Slide down leaves, Helter Skelter
Badgers, Foxes weasels too
Run for cover, I’m soaked through.
Puddles make good drinking holes
For all of these, oh, and tiny voles
Nature’s beauty at it’s best
But I’m still soaked through to my vest
Now the clouds have drifted by
The suns come out to make things dry
Wildlife comes back out to play
Birds are singing, what a day.
I stand and watch as rainbow glows
Across the fields, behind hedgerows
Now then, where’s that pot of gold
I’m going home I’m wet and cold.
