Cleave = Cut or Paste (IP)

Broad road so smooth
with ease we go
so glad to choose
pleasure, although
the narrow way
with stones, steep slope
beckons today –
and proffers hope;
who cares how long
we little do,
let’s sing a song
and muddle through;
(check strengthening given
that’s powerful
to reach the haven
wonderful;)
but we love to lure
others to come
to taste, endure
our careless fun;
no loungers like
the joys and toil
of a hard-work hike –
from prayer recoil;
best not to worry
nor work too hard,
if later sorry,
well, that’s too bad.
‘Cooees!’ invite:
‘It’s worth the trek,
the goal’s in sight,
– don’t stay off track!’

Well done, Rhiannon. A good poem written in a challenging style, and as Bee says, 'thought provoking'. It is one I shall return to, again and again.
Much enjoyed.
