when acting,

when interviewing,

when walking the catwalk &

every single photo op

possible---

all of which bait women

who will never know the glam of

such vanity,

into making the sad attempt to

move among the rest of us

in public,

down here deep in the trenches of

regular

run of the mill

citizenry,

as if what they naturally have

just isn’t enough,

no doubt

having been told exactly that

somewhere along the way in their lives---

and as they become brittle & fall off,

the women buying into all of it

save the hundreds of dollars that it takes

to get them done again,

smothered by the images that the 21st century

breeds,

until the day that they convince

themselves,

that they have naturally beautiful eyes &

they need not be slaves to the

fashion industry.
