Breakfast

The eggs should be boiled
Shells bashed in
Yokes exposed to the sun

The bread should be
A tiger loaf
And not toasted

There should be
No cups of tea
But perhaps (some days)
Coffee for me

We should be (preferably)
Hungover
And eating silently
And it shouldn't be too early

It’s not too much to ask
Eggs with a friend
At a round wooden table
In the sunshine.
