OVER THINKING

i think i'm over thinking
logic's winking like a fool
my energy is sinking
like an unplugged power tool
.
the more a concept's growing
i am throwing up my hands
the longer i'm not knowing
i'm as tense as rubber bands
.
i get lost in perception
all these questions leave a mark
there's snow in my reception
and the picture's growing dark
.
why can't i just believe it ?
not conceive it, endlessly
i slacken then reweave it
all the loose ends running free
.
i wish i could just stow it
even slow it, for a spell
it's not enough to know it
i dissect it all to hell
.
a private conversation
concentration, eyes a-squint
but there's no revelations
not the slightest little hint
.
it's getting hard to gauge here
act your age here, i proclaim
though at the final page here
further on, i'll surely aim
.
i do it as a poet
and i know it isn't right
so just before i blow it
i will bow and say "good night"

I hope your mind and
I hope your mind and reasoning powers have had a rest now! I enjoyed the picture of 'getting in a tiz', forcing oneself to keep trying when the brain is getting more and more tangled and tired. Especially liked 'there's snow in my reception', and the fun and work you'd had over your rhyming scheme to give it a flow. Rhiannon
