Where it all went wrong

I see men in suits and ties
Standing up telling lies
Throwing promises in the air
Full of charm and flair
I see men in preachers’ clothes
Standing with a saintly repose
Bequeathing salvation at a whim
Whilst concealing their own sin
I see business men being adored
For showing off all they can afford
Some people see them as sages
For paying workers low wages
I see generals with medals pinned
On a chest below their grins
Speaking of battles braved
But silent on who was betrayed
I see a world I don’t understand
Full of people with hidden hands
With a lust for power and control
Happy to have sold their souls
I see a world of rich and poor
Some are knocking on God’s door
I guess that’s where I don’t belong
Because I asked where it all went wrong

When will it all go right?
When will it all go right? Not an anwer in sight. In a world such as ours, poetry and words are left to sour. (In other words, I like your poem and the sentiments it proclaims, if that was your aim).
