Soggy November Day

Saturated hedges drip,
visibility murky, thick,
misty haze obscures the views,
greying out familiar hues;
hands in pockets, slither, slip,
oozy puddles, wellies stick,
all alone, with deadened sound,
but those drops and plops around,
and the squelching, splashing suck
of dank, decaying leaves in muck;
all is muffled, all is still,
damp brings penetrating chill.
Yesterday it all looked pretty,
detail lost now, blurring beauty,
soon there will be brighter weather,
frosts and silhouettes of winter.
Hurrying home to cheering chatter,
warmth, and bright familiar clutter.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I do like the way you play with words. You paint such a vivid picture - with sounds as well as sights.
