Today I was fired by a very frightened man. Ejected from the premises in great haste, along the dark corridor and out into harsh reality; my head spinning.
Destiny carried me across the cratered surface, stark, sterile and unmistakably man made. Mother Nature wept silently.
A stench unimaginable filled the air; a toxic mixture of fear, death, decay and hopelessness. The putrid pinnacle of mindless human endeavour.
Closer and closer now; the thud of two destinies; welcome release from rat infested misery.
I entered just beneath the eye, an eye filled with a look of courageous acceptance. Our journeys complete.

This is very good. Stark and emotionless, but tells a number of stories on a journey from the shooter to recipient, whose courageous acceptence made me feel slightly shocked by the exactness of the target, as well as sad and impressed at the crisp ending - the 'our' in 'our journeys complete.' Makes a great statement!
