1.
How bonnie is the blackbird
that whistles in the tree?
This little bird may lack words
but he’s a bard to me.
Though my heart may heavy;
his joy is always strong;
he lifts up my heart every
morn with his golden song.
Chorus:
When the sun starts to rise,
this birds beautiful cries
are the first sound that I always hear.
And I’m thankful he sings
for his song always brings
me a smile and a heart full of cheer.
2.
How bonnie is the blackbird;
his feathers dark as night
yet he drives darkness backwards
with his song sparkling bright.
My lips, they begin smiling
as if they have no choice
because of his beguiling,
beautiful golden voice.
.
Chorus:
When the sun starts to rise,
this birds beautiful cries
are the first sound that I always hear.
And I’m thankful he sings
for his song always brings
me a smile and a heart full of cheer.
