In Love With A Girl

I'm in love with a girl; fair hair
and sky-eyed - gives the sweetest kisses.
Says she likes my breasts; plunges in
face first and rests there,
casually using me for pillows.
I'm back in time with her - riding bikes
and scooters; skating to the shops.
Collecting colored leaves,
eating sweets sometimes,
and cakes instead of lunch.
We paint dances along the street
between the passers-by, who smile;
sing until our skipping hearts collide;
collapse in laughter
just for laughter's sake. Cry.
As for me, I know my love will last,
but she'll move on.
I only hope to be remembered
by my sky-eyed girl,
and that when she's grown I'll be around
a while, to see her happy. In love.

Yes, it's lovely. I also liked the sky-eyed. And the skipping hearts collide. Makes me think of the Beatles. It's beautiful without being soppy.

Hi Bee
Stories like this can never be told too many times. I think you've made a super job with your version. Like Tina I was especially taken with "painting dances" it made me think of a Lowry painting.

Hi Bee
Hi Bee
You've captured the thrill of a grandchild's complete acceptance and unquestioning love. Beautifully done. I hope you're going to make a collection of your work for her to read to her grandchildren. Whatever happened to that book by female poets that you had published last year?

Hi Bee,
Hi Bee,
this is a poem that would light up anybodies day, some children symbolize joy and you just want to embrace them. The picture was very angelic and went with the poem so well.
Beautifully done and enjoyed.
Jenny.
