Another Indigestible Scholastic Poem

Taking off my rose-colored glasses
grabbing a thick, refined monocle
to imbibe another scholastic verse
dyslexic exercise to warp my mind
discordant notes to serenade
my Tinnitus-inflamed drums
words randomly spliced
from Unabridged dictionaries
sharing the author's pedigree,
a common reader needing
a quality, flotation device
to tread each deep trough,
ingesting a litany of thoughts
barely clinging to the body,
loosely connected tendons
devoid of mass or fiber,
searching for nutritious nuggets
buried in calcium-depleted bones
with simpler minds gnawing the surface
absorbing lyrics with no resonance
not crafted for standard scale
decrescendo to crescendo
slow-moving, inflected chords
interspersed rests, enjambed bridges
melody without accompanying harmony
meandering to the closing lines
combing through tangles
shaking off the cobwebs
bouncing over speed bumps
gleaning the barest essentials
scavenging tasty morsel or two

I guess it is like that
I guess it is like that sometimes, reading a 'scholastic' verse'. Your poem says so much and really well too!
