Up to the Wind

Burrow Fort, Shropshire 17/6/15:
Hills around us, patchwork scene –
farm fields, woods in hues of green;
meadow rippling in the breeze,
and sound like the roar of billowing seas
as we climb through the trees
– the wind blowing stronger
over our heads through the branches swaying,
until up at the top
nearly blown from our feet
by the gale that we meet
as we circle the dykes:
a wide crow’s nest
high above, and far from shore
as the waves of Shropshire roll before.

Near Clun? Love it round there and your breezy poem reminded me of some lovely times Offa's Dyke spotting.

You make the scenery sound exciting and enticing. Works well with the rhyme.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
The poem and picture worked very well together. And as well as visual effect, we could feel the weather as we read it.
