I’m a thing
A word
An action
A thought
A number.
I cut,
I bleed
I tear
I rip
I destroy.
I am your boss
Your landlord
Your Bank
Your Master
Your Nightmare.
I am the opposite
to Robin Hood.
Like the Tin Man
I have no heart.
But I'm fierce as a lion.
I'm on Posters
In papers
On TV
On radio.
On line.
I am faceless
yet you know me.
Know my name
hear it everwhere.
In every language.
I am clever
I am cunning
I am crafty
It's not my fault
You're to blame.
Know who I am yet?
I'm Austerity
And I will cut YOU down.

I like that it's pared down,
I like that it's pared down, austere in the writing. So strange that we allow ourselves to be subject to such meanness. Fat cats purring that it's for the good of the country, as they absent-mindedly slash us to the bone with a careless claw.

Oh, how much I agree with your great, angry rant - beautifully sharp in its delivery.

I like austerity, the
I like austerity, the Calvinist idea of the chosen showing they are god's elite by tearing down the false idols of conspicious consumption. Or maybe it's just a great ruse and what am I? makes me think I've been on the booze. It's genetic. Some people are born with an impulse to push other's under economic juggernauts and laugh and tell them it's for their own good.
