the breath you take 

and the familiar 
sea-sprayed scent of your cologne 

would you dry my errant tears 
because you loved me 

as you left me to be on your way 
five hundred miles back home

will you still remember me 
with fondness 

long after I am lost
when you are gone

Hi Bee

This is lovely and full of hidden longing. My husband had a close friend who he asked me to contact so she could come and see him when we knew he had only a short time to live. So I contected her, and she agreed to come, and then the next day he died before she could. So when I called her back (she lives in Norway) she said, "He wanted me to come, and I wanted to come, knowing that is enough."

That's such a lovely story, and the contentment that came with just knowing they both wanted to being enough was true, and an important way of looking at things. I found your comments very moving, Jean.
