I dreamed
of you in moons
and stars and
skies of
the blackest lace.
I saw the truth deep in your eyes,
as I gazed at your lovely face. I saw a bird, a nightingale,
trapped behind wires, confined. Sadness overwhelmed your
wings, you had left your song behind. I stroked your
feathers and with a smile I bid my
bird goodbye and laughed through tears
of joy and sadness as I heard
you sing,
spread your
wings and fly.

marvellous, marvellous visual and fantastic, ethereal transportive quality, loved moments/phrases 'skies of the blackest lace', 'trapped behind wires' and 'sadness overwhelmed your wings'. v imaginative, swells to an uplifting ending
