Howl Like a Wolf

In the chill hour before dawn,
the roaring and flapping
of wind on the walls
and rain fit to shatter
the glass of black windows alarms me.
Eyes in the dark
refuse to stay shut,
sleep will not come,
and no matter how hard
I might look, I still cannot find you -
in the woods, in the park, by the lake,
or the river, nor on our usual beach
with the best of your dogs. I am lost
and alone with my thoughts,
and I'm howling.

Oh god, Bee, this was written for the sleep deprived. I love the wild, the howls, the blackness and inaccessibility of familiarity no matter how hard you try to go where nice things are, so well captured in that (blasted) void before the world wakes. One day I will sleep nine hours and my acne will be gone.

Sound and emotions seem amplified by the dark, you make me recall the impossiblity of pretending its not there.

Great portrait the frustration and fears of an insomnial night
I hope you managed to catch up.
I have had quite a few sleepless nights recently because it's been a bit stressful with helping to move a friend' so I know this well. I find breathing excersises can help, but not always.
Anyway, now my 'chore' is over I hope |I can spend more time reading and contributing on ABC.
Have a good christmas holiday x
