Wonder Diets & Phishing

Despite walls to block
spam emails still flock,
creep in through the chinks
with their dubious links
– don’t touch! treat as suspect:
may damage, infect
devices with viruses,
the programming capture,
enslave, twist or rupture;
or maybe they’re phishing
for data or cash,
enticing and pushing
the sale of irrelevant
oddments or trash,
announce with allure
spectacular cure
to problems of weight,
and ways to inflate
your income, and trick
your finger to click:
a modern and prevalent
intrusive bombardment
an irritant persistent.

Hello there, Rhiannon. One does have to be so careful these days as far as the internet is concerned, and you highlight the problem beautifully in this poem, which is hammered home more than succinctly in its last stanza.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
