Forgotten to Remember

I’ve forgotten to remember,
Your soft, warm embrace.
And you wiping the tears,
As they fell down my face.
I’ve forgotten to remember,
The smell of your skin.
That remained as a scent,
In each room you’d been.
I’ve forgotten to remember,
The touch of your palm.
When you’d hold my hands,
To keep me calm.
I’ve forgotten to remember,
Your kiss of good night.
And the ones of hello,
As the dark turned to light.
But I haven’t forgotten,
The smile on your face.
The sound of your laughter,
Your aura and grace.
And I haven’t forgotten,
The girl I’ve become.
And that’s all thanks to you,
I miss you mum.
