‘… You will find rest for your souls. …’

[Continuing the idea of a hymn for Sundays]
The bond that frees …
With passion Christ invites
us to his side,
not for a brief quick-fix,
but to abide.
With sorrows you are bearing,
learn from him, taste his caring,
your weary burdens sharing:
to Jesus, come.
He knows our deepest needs,
we cannot hide,
and yearns to welcome in,
his grace provide.
He personally calls
to you and me,
but some have no desire
his loving power to see.
Many don’t know of Christ’s
divinity,
and life yoked to his side,
so rich and free.
His power can clear our sight,
and draw us in,
can take the burden, load,
forgive our sin;
Accept his saving yoke
that gives such rest,
protection, and support,
for ever blest.
“Come to me, all you who are weary, and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28,29

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
I don't know the tune, but the words are very satisfying.
