you take a sea shell from its home
you figure there's no harm
but taking sea shells from the sea
is cause for great alarm
.
you hold the shell up to your ear ?
it's said, you'll hear the tide
and that's the song the shell must sing
for that's where they reside
.
the sea is calling out to them
a mother to its child
there must be a reunion
preservation of the wild
.
the shell adores the glory
of the vast and raging sea
that rules the earth, supremely
in three quarters, entity
.
the sea appears so weak
when gently lapping at the shore
but deadly is her fury
when she feels the urge to roar
.
the shells that lay upon your hand
are children of the sea
and they will sing a song for you
that spans eternity

I loved the idea of the shells being children of the sea, singing songs that span eternity. Your poem had a wildness about it that was magical to read.
Thank you for sharing Alvin.
