Mañana

It was one of those days when I used to say,
‘One of these days now – I mustn’t delay –
must mend that pump before it sticks’
– that was the day it broke, too bust to fix.
It was one of those days when I used to say,
‘One of these days now – I mustn’t delay –
must visit my Mum, she’s not far away’
– that was the day that they phoned to say …
It was one of those days when I used to say,
‘One of these days now – I mustn’t delay –
must point those bricks in the garden wall'
– that was the day I heard them fall …
It was one of those days when I used to say,
‘One of these days now – I mustn’t delay –
I really should just stop and pray'
– that was the day I passed away.

This poem reminded me of why
This poem reminded me of why we should get on and do what needs doing, I try to live by this rule, but it's very hard when others don't, putting off until tomorrow is always too late.
Wise words Rhiannon.
Jenny.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
This is such a clever use of rhyming to drive home such an important message. And I would add to your list - finding out the back story from your relatives before they die. So many many times I have wondered about my parents' lives, and when they were alive, I never asked them or showed any interest in their younger days.
