Glimpses from Memory Lane
(With Jnana)
P K Routray
At the prime of our teens
with plethora of desires and dreams
we met amidst hundred other companions
in our college, together after admissions.
From a school boy under parental protection
to a college student with plenty of freedom
we had mixed feeling of joy and apprehension
which lost its weightage under our adolescent union.
I remember fondly time then spent with you
discussing world around with our own fancied hue.
so far then I enjoyed the beauty of a rose in its tree
With you rose on a dame’s bun started mesmerizing me.
Then fleeing from a class for a midday movie show
I could convince my conscience not to feel low
Together we had gone to flood hit area with serving zeal
Both on virtue abd vice we had first hand feel.
Many acts of fun and fro;ic peep out from my memory lane
I think of running to all of you for a repeat as man insane.
it was since more than five decades or so
but looks as if it is just our yesterday’s show.
(N . B We lost one ot our dear college hood friend Jnana recently. Remembering our initial days with him in sixties.)
