Immaculate decor – which I’ll probably change,
modern appliances, and an old cooking range,
an old cottage feel, but the room-plan new,
quick city access, but a country view,
a shop and a pub on the village street,
a study, 3 bedrooms (one with ensuite),
space to give parties, entertain and prepare,
and a place for large freezers for everyday fare,
a garden spacious, but neighbours near us
(not too near, to watch us and hear us) …

Try this – I don’t like the garden …
Try this – far too expensive …
… at long last we’ve found it,
now it's hard to get round it!

from here we’ll pass on, our dreams will be gone.

ah, the dream of a new house much like the old one, but not the same, slightly different, foreign, but not worn.

Hello Rhiannon,
Hello Rhiannon,
I said I would get back on here to read some of your work but I have only been able to dabble here and there through lack of time. However, as I have a bit of time now, I thought I would read some of yours.
Well, you certainly summed things up nicely with this poem. I really enjoyed it. It was refreshing perceptive and very true. Particularly the first line 'Immaculate decor - which I'll probably change.
Hope you and yours are well
Moya
