Low Flame in the Slow Lane

I’m a low flame
In the slow lane
Slow flowing
Brain wader
Thoughts coming
Fleet, fading
Breaking up and going
Few words to say
Hushed
Just enough
To keep the heat
Soft glowing
All seeing, watching
Them in the fast lane
Full tanks, loose reins
Blind speed, flame throwing
Light chasing, life
Sewn up, tight sewing
Silent - quiet knowing
I’m ape, loose seams
Gaping open
Choking on my pipe dream
What - what’s it all about?
Blow on me
I’m going out

This made me think how them
This made me think how them in the fast lane can crash out (which was on my mind in my 'Merry-go-round' poem about the circus IP this week), and also 'A bruised reed he will not break, and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out' about Jesus' gentleness with the weak and faltering. Rhiannon
