The Reproachful Muse

Its been a very patient sheepdog
never nipping or barking
just walking behind me stopping whenever I did
lying down when I stopped
gazing with big limpid eyes
waiting
I dont want to write if I will feel too much if I do.
I was in war zone mode
setting task after task and narrowing focus to get it done
running the gauntlet of grief
I still get anxious when making decisions on my own.
I still dont really believe my husband is dead
It doesnt make sense
But I have moved house and can now walk to shops..
I have joined a choir, and even tried a Jive class.
I get badly dizzy but hey ho it may get better with practice.
One day I will even turn and pet the ever faithful poetry dog
properly

The picture of your faithful
The picture of your faithful dog, who understands to be with you, patient for when you feel like communicating, seems a good model for friendship that is there, but undemanding, especially through grief and hard readjustments. Rhiannon

i love dogs
Yes I am definitely also a "dog person". There is no dog in my life at present but I hope to have a golder retriever they are very intelligent and gentle, good-natured. I want to call her Victory.
All the best!

Poetry certainly follows you.
Poetry certainly follows you. A beautifully subtle expression of grief and returning to creativity.
