invitation to the storm
By Nolan
- 2483 reads
hear tidings of the dance as whispers hushed
lightning begins the song from far proclaims
wind is bringer of news afar of the storm
announce the dance invite the guests!
quiet and still wind calms in anticipation
ominous silence darkness threatens
shyly holding breath hums a hymn
waiting moans restless the wind
~
from grey veiled hills roll soft grumbling
lights flicker menacing on the horizon
dark laden cloud accompanied swift bolts
fear begins nearer brighter the flashes
every streak blinding light is a miracle
a storm is born dance with the storm
brace bold courage to face the assault
lashing rain gale whips an icy inferno!

wandering star
Good. And one good thing about storms is that they always pass.
As for the quote, I wonder how many people these days know the Western song with "I was born under a wandering star". We grew up with it.
