Our friends all scattered this summer and vacationed in various parts of Europe. One couple even got engaged in Norway. We don't have any vacation time until August. But I did get a song out of it.

Almost on Vacation Blues
We got the
sweat it out
stuck at home
don't get off
till August blues
repeat chorus
our friends
have all
invaded Europe
an' it don't
look like they're
comin' home soon
kayakin'
in Norway
tossin' pints
in Glasgow too
some are even
holding hands
under a starry
grecian moon
gonna quit
our jobs tomorrow
find ourselves
a cool and sleepy lagoon
sweat it out
stuck at home
don't get off
till August blues
wanna wake up
in the mornin’
in a fancy pair a
beach walkin’ shoes
‘cause our feets
is itchy crazy
for vacation
in the summertime, too
sweat it out
stuck at home
don't get off
till August blues
repeat chorus
and now
there's gonna
be a wedding
gratulerer!
to you two
(gratulerer: congratulations in Norwegian)

And this,
of course, were there such a thing, would be performance, song and blues of the day! Loved this one.
