Orchard Lane snakes around Usk Hill,
With mountain gorse; it's ever golden flower
Shines though winters ice cold kiss.
Springs arrival adds new beauty to the world,
Creamy plates of elder bloom hang down
We lost two giant friends today cut down,
Decay and age which tore their hearts asunder,
Sentinels of time they'd stood to grace Usk Hill
How many lovers had sat beneath their giant canopies?
So many hearts of love were carved upon their trunk
Again I walked through long green dappled grass
To look and search; "Edward loves Jennifer 1972"
I photograph my token carved with love that year
Even after all this time my love still burns bright for her

I hate it also when they cut down
I hate it also when they cut down (large especially) old trees, but sometimes it has to be done. And nature has it's way too.

You capture a lot of nature
You capture a lot of nature sights incidentally again in your story, and so good to quietly commemorate such continuance in love and care through the years and all they bring. Rhiannon
