D oors that stick and do not budge,
O ften the work of amateur bodgers
I nstead of skilled professional men
T ell us that we mustn’t begrudge  
Y en, dollars, pounds, wisely spent
O n new constructions even when
U nforseen costs suddenly emerge.
R ather than risk someone’s safety
S urely it’s better to act prudently,
E nsure we employ a lot of care
L est we put lives at a great risk
F or the sake of a few pence saving .

Agree, that's well done!

Not always wise to do it yourself! We have constant irritations when doing something or getting something done as we discover the odd way things were tackled in the past, and the short-cuts that later cause trouble. Rhiannon

Even though some people feel that they have the skill to undertake diy jobs, it isn't always wise to do so, as you rightly say Rhiannon, on the grounds of ability and/or saving money as it could prove to be false economy causing problems necessitating remedial and possibly more expensive work.
