A Rant For National Poetry Day
Fixated on words of careless madness
stirring up frenzy vague and unhealthy,
emotionless, headstrong voices leading,
attention to all those willing and hearing,
now measure each slow deep inhalation;
breathe not hypocrisy but pure stimulation,
leave out all that sanctimonious empty talk
that comes across like the screech of a hawk,
release yourself from chains of doubt
willing to listen but let's be honest,
negligent words of self expression
not helpful just cause retribution,
some people struggling to understand
strain put on them by leaders demands,
so through all the years it continues on
fight to discover who's right and who's wrong.

It's good to have a rant
It's good to have a rant Jenny, especially when it's a poetic rant - and a really good one at that.

There seems to be a lot of screeching these days without listening or reading what is being said properly, and little thinking, discussing, trying to follow reasons being given, considering and giving thoughtful answers to what is being said by others, to try to sort out what is truth, what is right and what is wrong. A great rant for National Poetry Day. Yes, far too much careless madness all round us at the moment.

" words of careless madness
" words of careless madness stirring up frenzy vague and unhealthy" is chilling but great . You've described so well this endless noise that makes it so hard to understand
