Blue
By shoe
- 2043 reads
From up here
there is every colour blue
and a froth of tatting
tearing itself to shreds
on the rocks below
A continent of drowned cities
houses, walls, gardens and
every small human thing
and the bones of all the creatures
that have ever been
When the earth tilts and the moon
swings in your favour
you rush to fill the land
that cradled you in the beginning
Down on the shore
at the water’s edge
a couple, merged in the sea-spray
made tiny by distance
-this is how the world sees us-
specks against the jagged cliff-face
nowhere to turn to
but the crashing breakers
Holding hands now, how alone they look
caught between sea, cliff and sky
How daring
to stand so close
love can do that

Really enjoyed reading this
Really enjoyed reading this poem shoe, it got me thinking of floating along in an air balloon across a blue sky and looking down at the earth below. Very picturesque.

Very
nice work.
If you're not going to punctuate all the way through, you might leave it out altogether, or even omit the capital letters too, in the manner of e e cummings.
Well done.
