My mother wasn’t practical,
and when we went to stay
my husband took his tool-box in
for service right away.
Mum fought into a cereal box
past ‘Open other end’,
instructions often lost, mis-read
seemed not to understand.
And frequently, through half the year
her watch displayed a time
one hour wrong – the next ‘clock-change’
would bring it into line!

Your poem
Your poem certainly brought a smile to my face Rhiannon. Was your mother really like that?

I am not surprised that people are often baffled by instructions, they seem to have been badly translated and perhaps they would be clearer in the original language.
Congratulations on the cherries.

This is a great poem for the I P Rhiannon.
I can so relate to your mum, especially the last stanza. I never bother putting my time back or forwards, I just leave it as it is. I suppose it's the rebel in me.
Glad I'm not on my own with following instructions. Smile.
Jenny.
