Any old Friday

Summer’s gone on longer than it should
If that were possible
- They say it is
I walked the maze of morning streets
Swerving round deliveries
Gagging on the stench of piss
For coffee and tostada
And somewhere just to catch my breath
Some space to think
I drifted to the courtyard and the corridors
Of Museo Reina Sofía
- Strange juxtaposition
It’s lunchtime now
The sun hangs high and slightly south
Madrileños are filling up the bars
In search of shade and conversation
It’s time to find my place
And answer to the dryness in my mouth

Nice vignette, PT
Not sure where you are living, I didn't think it was Madrid. Great city, Surprisingly easy to find a parking place I found, but maybe I was just lucky.
On the Canaries this time of the year is the hottest, especially on GC.It builds up all through summer until about Mid-November. When the temperature drops below 18 the locals think they're going to freeze to death, (unless they live up in the moutains that is).
Cheers

That's wierd
The last time I was in Madrid was in 2004. I was taking a bootful of stuff to my friend's sister who was selling their mother's appartment near the twin towers and moving to Alicante. A Nigerian man showed me a place where it was easy to park, not for money, just a nice guy.
I spend a number of years back and forth from Belgium and the Canaries after that. Then I needed chemo so I've been in Belgium since 2011 ... permanently I guess. After Brexit I feel like a man without a country sometimes,
