‘Eyes’ that mesmerize
– apparent stillness in the midst
of rattling tail of stunning iridescence,
immense;
– ‘eyespots’ heavy,
motion-resistant,
hypnotize:
background barbs are loose,
widely spaced,
move and rattle freely,
but 'eyes' are dense
their intermeshed barbules
have microhooks:
pinnacle of complexity
for this vision of such dazzling beauty:
couldn’t gradually
develop.

You capture the wonderful
You capture the wonderful strangeness of a peacock very well. Their beauty has an almost alien quality to it, if you are standing looking at them, and they are standing looking back. This brought back memories of being with my children when they were very young, and they saw a peacock unfurl its tail for the first time. They were speechless.
