Home, with family, with scars.

All I ask for:
Peace on earth.
Or in the house.
Or at least a quiet night to sleep.
A pimple
(The large oozing kind)
On the nose of the woman at work with the straight hair and sharp teeth.
Bitterly awful weather to give us a neutral topic of conversation.
For the parts of my heart stolen to return with interest.
Three wise men bearing canisters of patience, humility and wisdom.
Also short term memory loss.
For my uncle to smile as if he knew me. For my husband to relax as though he’d forgotten.
At least two hours around the board game table, no screaming.
To grasp at each moment as it barrels past, however elusive and strange it might seem, and hold it to the memory of this day.
To find an unnoticed place to bandage my wounds.
To bandage the wounds of all the other refugees from this day, this year.

And,
you know, I don't think any of it is too much to ask.
You have a typo "tipic" vice "topic".
It's over. Tell your family next year's traditonal celebration is cancelled, and you're off out to volunteer at the local homeless shelter and they're welcome to join you.
I like the idea of an agnostic nun, I've no patience with religion myself.
I enjoyed this. The moments barrelling past is an image which we would all do well to consider and it will stick in my mind for some time.
Best

This is brilliant - you've
This is brilliant - you've made every single word count, and I wish you would pop in more often with things like this. I hope your wishes are all granted (especially the pimple which I think is a splendid idea)
We've had some interesting things on ABCTales in the past few days - perhaps a product of people not having to go to work? This is among the best

Reading this gave me a lot of pleasure. I'm not sure whether that was the intention or formed part of the writing process, but who can tell what a reader will derive from our outpourings?
The upshot is that it put a smile on my face.
Thank you.
I love the closing lines, by the way. Very visual and filled with generosity.

I like this alot. It captures the menial mundane of our everyday lives and our insignificant daily wishes and throws them at the perspective of the larger, more striking picture at the end. It sums up my thoughts the last few months.

Really strong work. Really
Really strong work. Really good word economy. Touching. Reaches a beautiful high water mark with the 'to grasp at each moment as it barrels past' section. Much enjoyed
