Love in Sight

Thank you Rhiannon. I worked as an Administrator for a Home for the Aged in Petrolia, Ontario. But this  poem is for my wife as I sit up in the night just to hear the calmness of her breathing. Love is great.

Thank you so much for "the pick of the day" award. My wife, Esther and I, were married on March 27th 1975 and still on our honeymoon. Prior to marriage we wrote up a set of rules to be followed 100%, really. NO hitting one another, not even once; no speaking ill of one another in front of anyone;  and if scorching words are on the verge when alone together -- go for a long walk at least one hour, then come home and talk about it to relieve any leftover hurt; always sleep together, none of this "sleep in the doghouse" nonsense. DO encourage and say positive things about each other, especially in front of others. There are other areas, some of which we struggled with and overcame, but the ones listed above are strong points to make a marriage. PS. Tell your spouse daily how much you love them and hug them often. 

Thanks so much PT. I don't see much in the way of stories or poems about older aged people, so I placed my hat in the ring a few years ago and getting bolder with my subject's issues. I really enjoyed my six years as Administrator of a 177 resident Home for the Age with all levels of care, plus a fifty apartment unit attached. Residents were not shy to express honest views, and definitely did not relish being called "old" or "senior." We had to refer to them as "older persons." and they were a delight to work with.
