NEXT YEAR

Next Year will be better
It cannot be worse!
But we said that last Christmas
When we hoped to reverse
The ills and the sorrow
Of an unjust, cruel world.
For a brighter tomorrow
We hoped; and we prayed
For relief of cruel pain:
And the dragon that's cancer
At last might be slain.
But we did not know then
What we know now to our cost -
Some loved ones still fighting;
Others' battles now lost;
But still we look forward
With hope and with fear
Wondering - what will we wish for
At this time next year?

I hope it will be better for
I hope it will be better for you, Linda. But as we get older (!) and our friends get older too, we get more aware of the ever present ills of this life, and the brightest hope of Christ's promised new creation, to wait on the Father's timing for, becomes ever more precious. Rhiannon
