A Childs Summer

Billowing white sails
echo in the lulling of our moods
as golden pink, the evening sun
drizzles down her rays of faultless poise.
I stand to let the child in me
stare - lost in her captivated fascination.
She tries wide-eyed
to capture, picture perfect this
garden of Eden’s
feasting Summers day.
That warm dry breeze, how she
tenderly strokes, the now heavy laden trees
as grapes in fists of emeralds lush
drop about my feet.
They douse my thirst
staunch my rising hunger.
I can feel her shadows; slowly traversing
along my visions view.
What winter stripped
to barest bare
fair of Lady Summer has wrapped them
all anew!
In warmed embrace, she lavished each
wrapped around her tender loving care.

I love your study of Summer in this poem. The sensations of nature and its delicate wisdom to give us such beautiful poetry as you have written.
Thank you for sharing Poppy.

Rich, discriptive and a lovely Summer's day. Well written Poppy, rhyme good. The child within always has a clearer picture. Geraldine.
