carrying the child of death within me;
feeling it suckle on my strength;
waiting to bear my own oblivion;
the birth that will abort me.
a new me is awakening;
growing limbs of contemplation;
my soul outgrowing my flesh;
a new heart beating in my heart;
in my brief life left
becoming doubly alive.

Two weeks to worry and hope
Two weeks to worry and hope and build your courage. I admire greatly that you could write this poem. Am praying for you. My son is thinking of you, too. Just anaemia is grim. Hopefully you will feel stronger to face the future when your iron levels go up again?

Bithika, I'm one of the co-directors of ABCTales. I am so very sorry to hear such sad news. John was an absolute legend on our website - the depth and breadth of his writing was amazing and he has many admirers all of whom will be so sad to hear of his death.
He was also a great supporter of ABCTales and his generous donations were very much appreciated.
Please pass my condolences onto his whole family - I am sure he would be so pleased to hear you're enjoying his work.
If there's anything I can help you with feel free to email me at claudine@abctales.com, and if you don't mind, I'd like to put an announcement on our front page tomorrow? Let me know via email if there's anything you'd like me to include and if you're ok with that.
Once again I am so sorry for your loss.

Bithika, I feel very saddened
Bithika, I feel very saddened since hearing about JoHn. His work is beautiful. His children's stories a treasure chest of invention and imagination. I sent a link to my own grandchildren some time ago. We had some great exchanges on here. He came across as a principled and lovely man. I'll miss his presence very much. X

An echo of your loss is felt by all on here
Heartfelt condolences. It is not an easy time for you. At least his suffering is over. For what consolation it may be, my nephew is now going to own a copy of your brother's book. We wish you all well. X

Dear Bithika,
Dear Bithika,
I haven't been able to stop thinking about John all weekend. His writing was so inspiring and gave so much pleasure to so many, including myself.
In this time of saddness, I hope you are surrounded by much love and kindness.
Jenny.
