Lazily gazing

Up at shape

Shifting images

Passing overhead,

 

But for slight breeze they

Float almost motionless,

Feathery lion dancing on back

Of fuzzy white leaping horse,

 

Across arctic peaks

That unite in an orgy

Of soft shapes blending

Among storm clouds,

 

Not idle, but their

Designs relaxed

As ice cream

Sunday afternoons,

 

Like weightless dreams

Nourishing imagination

With fanciful illusions

Striving as if towards a quest,

 

I visualize a mantle

Advancing –

Shadowing

Vales and hills,

 

Silently stalking

Like a black mass,

Metamorphosis

To atmosphere,

 

Leaving blue sky

To retreat till

Sun once

More returns.

You've really captured the magical beauty of clouds Jenny. Is that Stonehenge?

I once got a book for my mother-in-law called, I think, 'A pig with six legs', and it was of many captured cloud -pictures. It is relaxing looking at the sky-scapes isn't it? and reading your poem takes me into a summer rest looking up at the changing sky. Rhiannon

reading this I found my eyes going slower from word to word, as though you had made me think at cloud speed. It has such a tranquil feeling.

Striving as if towards a quest reminds of the power of the wind

and also the sloping writing is like being blown

Hi insert,

glad you enjoyed this poem and thank you so much for the juicy cherries. Yes that is Stone Henge, I have got pictures of my own of the historic sight, but nothing like as good as the one here, I just loved the sky which seemed to portray what I was trying to describe.

Hi Rhiannon,

yes you're right gazing up at the sky in the Summer can be so relaxing. There seem to be so many amazing clouds around at the moment I can't help but sit in the garden and watch them when I've nothing to do.

I've never heard of that book you mentioned, but I know just lately I've seen some amazing creatures in the clouds. Faces seem to come through a lot whether they be long faces with pointed noses, or plump faces with eyes nose and mouth, a bit like the man in the moon...it's all so cool.

Anyway thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, always nice to hear from you.

Hey! HIlary, wouldn't it be great to be able to fly among the clouds? I often dream of flying and have written poems about my dreams.

Hello Di,

you know you open my eyes with your comments, they're always so enlightening. I never realised when writing in a sloping manner that it reminded the reader of being blown...that's so perceptive of you.

I love your thoughts on the power of the wind too, clouds always make me think of upside down islands in a blue calm ocean that appear to move ever so slowly. More power to the imagination.yes

You know I always enjoy hearing your thoughts, they're always so perceptive and clear to my own thoughts.
