---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A threatening sky
predicts a violent storm.
Garden under threat.
 
The leaves are falling:
hazelnut trees, now undressed,
shiver in the cold.
 
The grass is too wet.
Idle gardeners are glad:
no more lawn mowing.

Though that wetness will probably cause more growth, unless it turns very cold!

Not advisable to mow a wet and muddy lawn, better wait for next spring. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Cheers,

This is so cute, really like it. We can swap mowing for leaf clearing or you can just suck them up on a high setting with the mower and of course put them in a leaf bin.

Thanks for your appreciation, Jane.
Some people are keener than others. As an idle horticulturist myself, I discourage everyone to undertake gardening chores during winter (and any other season if they can get away with it}.

I agree Di. There is nothing better than watching bees buzzing in a patch of wild flowers while reclining in a lounger and thinking - only thinking, mind - that I ought to do something about the lawn which looks in need of a trim. wink
