The impossible journey! —

How many chimneys in this town
for Santa to go up and down?
and when a chimney he can’t see,
does he have a magic all-locks key?
Will his clothes get covered in soot,
leave footprints from a blackened boot?
How many houses, one by one,
improbable, impossible work to be done
stopping here and then next door,
this street, that street, more and more …
through cities, countries quickly ride –
how long to circle the whole world wide?
– warping time, unlikely feat?
and how many pies does he stop to eat?
I am so glad I don’t rely
on a super-sonic Santa whizzing by!
