Rainbows and Rivers
By Paul McCann
Under the bridge , the halfpenny bridge ,
there is a river that flows out to sea .
Over the bridge , the halfpenny bridge ,
there is a rainbow for you and for me .
I promise you this , love will never die ,
here’s rainbows and rivers
and gold in the sky .
Under we go past the halfpenny bridge ,
rowing a Curragh boat so peacefully .
Onwards we go and tomorrow
maybe we will find that place
that we’re meant to be.
There is another world that awaits you and I ,
there’s rainbows and rivers and gold in the sky .
At the end of the rainbow,
far beyond the sea ,
there is a crock of gold for you and for me .
Steady as we go , towards that rainbow
Where dreams float on angels wings ,
believe and you will see .
No need to worry ,
no need to cry,
there’s rainbows and rivers
and gold in the sky .
.

This piece was very effective
This piece was very effective for me, expressing the idea of hope that is just around the corner.
I loved the idea of a halfpenny bridge where the river flows out to sea and rowing a Curragh boat so peacefully.
Thank you for sharing and I wish you and yours a Happy Christmas and a healthy and peaceful New Year.
Jenny.
