Madeleine McCann.

Madeleine McCann, may be not in the news now as often as I would like, but she is not forgotten, I can still her young timeless face and unique colours in her eyes. There are lots of theories of what happened that night, all bad and her parents who are the only couple to my knowledge who have stayed together, compared to all the other couples who have had a child go missing, or killed, they have stayed together!

I sometimes let my mind wonder as to what she is doing right now this minute, does she know who she really is? If yes, has she tried to escape? But she was only a toddler when she was in the news, I wonder if she is still alive, is her life, ‘good’? Has she been given to a ‘good’ family who love her? And treat her with kindness? Or, is she been treated badly, and knows no difference, of right and wrong? Does she know she is famous, VERY famous, known around the world? For not only do I know about her, but so does my Mum and my Kids! That’s three generations, who know of her. Her life with her twin siblings, have been stolen away, for them and from her. Years that can not get back.

It does seem hopeless, what would her life have been like at school, lifelong friends she could have made, music and food she could have enjoyed, she could have been the One to make a medical discovery, she could have been the one to find the cure, what would she have studied? What great things could she have achieved?

I have SO many questions, I don’t have the answers to, it’s frustrating at times the unknown of what happened that night.

But all is not completely hopeless, for a few years ago, I read an amazing book about a girl who was kidnapped and was gone for eighteen long years! The remarkable story is of Jaycee Dugard, she was given up for dead, but she was very much alive. So, until I hear otherwise, I am hopeful for a ‘good’ outcome.
