Shared Pleasures In Spring

Do we hold onto visions of constraint?
No! Let senses fly elusive, our psychic
yearns for freedom to explore,
then with eyes shut tight...hands joined
hear sounds course between our space,
listen for distant whoosh! As nearing gusty
wild ambush of crashing waves bestows
atmosphere to our poetry.
Pause...then with paper and pen,
to swoon at leathery, salty skin
those handsome clad fishermen,
their daily task not a grind
but a lingering necessity,
as sprawled out coastal trawlers
bring home their catch in holds
bulging with delights.
Meet me as minds linked on
warm Spring day – visualize
gentle meandering coastal paths,
see blooms of sea pink thrift
along cliff edges – clusters of
tiny magic wands nodding heads,
as if enjoying conjuring the salty
sea air as much as we do,
not a flower to hide,
but sits openly
meditating
the day away,
admiring each
sunrise and sunset
of a brand new
Spring day.

Jenny, I liked your thrid
Jenny, I liked your thrid verse very much, brought back lovely strolls along windy, sunny cliff paths with the sound of the sea and the beautiful thrift!
I wasn't sure about the fishermen, thought their lives are much of a grind in those storms and long hours at sea?!
Second line – I wondered if you meant 'psyche' not 'psychic'? Neither words I know, but 'psyche' seems to be used for the human soul, mind, spirit according to the dictionary I looked up. 'Psychic' seemed to be used for supposed telepathic powers etc. I thought you were probably referring to letting the imagination of your soul 'feel' the winds and waves etc?

I enjoyed this poem. You
I enjoyed this poem. You described the coast so well, with the fishing description and the coastal path, and attached it to spring. It reads well and paints pleasing pictures.
