This Tide of Ocean

slams forty slaps

against a pebbly shore

 

creating a whisker

of fish nets

sea weed and pieces

of driftwood

 

and crustaceans

begin to maneuver

over beach-side

joining in a panic

of celebration.

I enjoyed the vivid scene created. The last phrase seemed to fit the picture of the ocean fiercly slapping and pounding the shore, while the movement of crustaceans seems a still, slow quiet contrast! Rhiannon

Thank you, Rhiannon. My wife and I attended our yearly Trenholm family re-union near Port Elgin, New Brunswick and had a great time by the ocean, on Northumberland Strait.  I enjoy splashing in the salty ocean water, so soothing for mosquito bites and other ailments. So nice to sit and listen to the shush of waves, the lapping and cry of sea gulls dotting the sky, swooping in to check for any wayward clams. Just imagine, seagulls pick them up when they expose themselves, then fly up about 30 ft and drop them right on top of a rock already picked out. After the clam breaks up seagulls dip down and eat the soft insides. ,
